Duckworks - Calendar

The thoroughly delightful days of 2011 are still vivid memories, but it's already time to put the 2012 Eastern Messabout on the calendar! Same weekend, same location, same general format & arrangements … three days of “messing about” … an informal gathering for sailboats, powerboats, canoe & kayak; home-built or commercial. Nail & glue, stitch & glue or "traditional". BUT … with some added attractions.

The “Paul & Paul Symposium”on two unique & notable boating expeditions, by two of our fellow Rogues:

Paul Moffitt will sketch his instigation and sailing of the OBX 130 .. the boats, the route, the skippers, & the challenges .. including the proposed route for 2012.

Paul Helbert will sketch the Loire River Raid; 2 weeks in France, the 1st building a Quick Canoe, then sailing from Blois to Langeais, stopping to camp along the river.

Both will take our questions & comments. This is the 'ying & yang' of messing about .. distinctly different in character, but richly similar in satisfaction. Most likely Sat. at dusk by the beach with slides … a file with more details is being posted & an album with some additional pictures like-wise. (Look and click to the left.) We are delighted that both skippers a have agreed to share these enticing experiences.

Plus … another raft up lunch at Cabin John Creek, a Marsh mellow Scoop Contest for smaller craft, an open“Poker Run”, PDR races (a regional warm-up for the Worlds later in the Summer also to be held in the East this year). Door prizes & who knows what !!!

The Park arrangements are the same – make your own reservations, ramp fees, etc."
