| Dexter Lake Messabout March 31, 2007 Lowell State Park Dexter Reservoir Springfield, OR (17 miles out of Eugene, OR) Pat Patteson pateson@colton.com No camping, apparently? **Permits required & associated fees, e.g. launch ramp, parks, etc. Park features: Dexter Reservoir is a 1000-acre lake on the Middle Fork of the Willamette River. It's in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Southeast of Springfield, Oregon. Elevation is about 700 ft. The reservoir was built for flood control and has a small hydro power plant. The water level fluctuates several inches during a day. Notes: the organizers say: After months of darkness and rain, it is time to shake off the dust and swamp out the holds. You have been twiddling with your boats all winter long, now it is time to get 'em on the water and see how they float. Lowell State Park is one of Oregon's small sailor's treasures. It has a HUMONGOUS ramp so even the most neophyte trailer sailor can get his boat to the water. The docks are well maintained and the facilities are excellent. This lake has excellent wind and is a joy to sail. Bring your boat and show it off. Calendar of Events for "Coots", a Northwestern messabout club Website Previous years |
