Sail Gasket Template
by Glen Maxwell

Every once in a while someone comes up with something very clever and such was the sail gaskets by Rob Rohde-Szudy. I was impressed enough that I sat down with my cad program and made a drawing which would be easy to duplicate and scaleable. I would like to offer it as a contribution to Rob's article.

It is a page of 24, 2 1/4" X 1", cleat patterns which can be printed and then attached to any appropriate 1/4" thick material with spray adhesive and then cut out. The large hole is 1/4" beveled both sides with a 1/2" countersink and the small hole is 3/16" or 1/4". Best to drill the holes before cutting out the cleat. Enlarge or reduce the printout to suite your needs. I found they are wonderful for securing a tarp over the boat.
