Chicagoland Autumn Messabout Invitation
by Rob Rohde-Szudy

Busse Lake, main pond

See Messabout Calendar for links to maps Cook County, IL Rob Rohde-Szudy, organizer - (though really it's very democratic!) robrohdeszudy@netzero.net

Notes from Rob: October is getting awfully late in the season for this kind of thing anywhere near the Windy City. But we intrepid Northerners are not easily dissuaded by the weather. Nonetheless, we planned a "storm date" for if it's blowing more than 20 or 25 mph. I'll coordinate with the group that RSVPs to confirm whether we're on or waiting for the rain date.

So email to RSVP! The general plan is to try to get to the boat ramp on the south pond by about 10 AM, get set up, launch, and then mess about for most of the day. No pot luck meal is planned, so bring yer own vittles and services. I may or may not be able to have a grill fired up. I guess they don't like that sort of thing near the boat
loandings. Busse Lake is fairly small and sheltered. This is why we might get away with such a late season event. Unless it's quite windy, sailing on Busse Lake tends to be fairly sedate, although the trees are provide a bit of variety by creating various eddies and whirls in the wind pattern on the water.
