Rob Roy

Last week I relaunched my Platt Monfort Rob Roy. I first built it several years ago, but it came out too heavy.  I used Nylon canvas to cover the boat originally and Neoprene to coat it.  I used it but not enough.  Finally, I swallowed hard and started cutting.  I managed to eliminate about 20 pounds of unnecessary wood that I had added, thinking that the boat as shown in the plans was not stout enough.  Then I covered it with some new 10oz. Nylon twill and coated that with Hypalon.
